| Life has a strange way of favoring the fortunate. Years ago when I asked a prosperous businessman how he was the distributor of virtually ALL the best products in the market; his answer was simple, "when u have the money, they (the companies) queue up at yr doorstep and beg u to sell their products!". 2 months ago I was at a Photographic Institute in Delhi which allows photographers to use their gallery to host exhibitions. Since I found the cost of putting up a 40 photograph show going beyond my means I asked the Director of the institute how I could get sponsored for the exhibition; he commented wryly "Well, sponsors normally go to photographers who don't require them" ie the already famous and wealthy ones. Ahh! what irony! So would I swap my Canon 350D for a 39 MP Hasselblad and own a swank studio complete with skimpily clad models instead of pounding the cobbled paths of my little village? U gotta be joking! |
